Cut Up (or Cut) - A term used to denote a bodybuilder who has an extremely high degree of muscular definition due to a low degree of body fat.

Double (Split Training) Routine - Working out twice a day to allow for shorter, more intense workouts. Usually performed by advanced bodybuilders preparing for contests.
Edelen, Leonard G. "Buddy" - Former world record holder in the marathon (Britain's Polytechnic Marathon, 1963, 2:14.28,8), and the first American to go under 2:20. At the University of Minnesota, Edelen won Big Ten titles in cross country and track, but achieved his greatest fame after moving to England to train. Edelen trained in England and received his coaching advice from Fred Wilt via mail. He won the 1964 Olympic Trials on the notoriously hot, hilly Yonkers, New York course.
Juice - A slang term for anabolic steroids, e.g., being "on the juice."
Optimal nutrition - The best possible nutrition; distinct from merely adequate nutrition, which is characterized by no overt deficiency. This term describes people free from marginal deficiencies, imbalances, and toxicities, and who are not at risk for such.
Thogersen, Thyge (1926-) - Danish runner that finished 24th in the 1952 Olympic 10000m run, and 6th at the 1960 Olympic Marathon. Won nationals on 5000m 8 times, 10000m 12 times, 20K 6 times, marathon 3 times, and Cross Country 4 times. Lowered the national record on 5000m from 14.28,4 to 14.09,4, and the 10000m record from 30.20,6 to 29.45,0. He also ran in the 1956 Melbourne Olympics, where he finished 8th on the 5000m (14.21,0) and 15th on the 10000m (30.18,0).
