Some Exercise facts of interest are:

Christensen, Herluf (1924-1970) - In 1948 this Danish runner had his breakthrough when he beat the unbeatable Niels Holst-Sorensen in a 800m race. He then qualified for the London 1948 Olympics where he started in the 800m, but he broke his leg and could not finish the race.

De Castella, Rob - Australian marathoner who won the gold medal in the 1983 World Championship race. He also won titles in Japan's Fukuoka race and the Boston Marathon.

Dwyer, Fred - Marty Liquori's high school coach.

Ebert, Julius (1898-1993) - Finished 35th in the 1920 Olympic 8K Cross Country race, and was on the Danish team that finished 7th.

Grazing - This term refers to frequent feedings-eating small amounts of food often.

Newton, Arthur - South African ultra-distance runner and 4-time Comrades winner in the 1920s and 1930s.

Seko, Toshihiko - Two-time "Boston Marathon" winner and one of Japan's greatest marathon runners, Seko placed sixth in the Los Angeles Olympic Marathon in 1984.

Spotters - Training partners who stand by to act as safety helpers when you perform heavy lifts in bench press, or squats, as well as other exercises. If you reach the point of temporary muscular failure, your spotter can help you lift the weight up in order to complete the range of motion safely. It is especially important to have a spotter when you are attempted one - rep maximums (1RM).

Straight Sets - Groups of repetitions (SETS) interrupted by only brief pauses (30-90 seconds).

Thugwane, Josia - South African hero that won the 1996 Olympic Marathon.
